Everyone tells us to go to college, get a degree, choose a nice, clean corporate job with good benefits and we'll be set for life...right? I am going to tell you differently.
I know that what everyone wants is to be happy. That may include being wealthy, being in love, being a parent, being superbly knowledgeable, etc... However, does that necessarily mean that you must get a college degree and an office job as stated above? Absolutely not! There are infinite ways to achieve personal happiness and the reason being because there is no one formula that applies to all.
I'm NOT here to say that education is not important, I believe that if you are not learning something constantly, you will lose all the potential capacity for absorbing information and learning which really just means...you will become slower and slower with time in different aspects of your life. To learn is to reach new levels of potential. I will go into that in a later post cause trust me, there is lots to say about it. :)
Now with that being said, I think a lot of folks really focus on getting "educated" in a college/university setting and while I applaud anyone going that route, we can't forget how essential it is to know a skill or trade. There's true joy and fulfillment in learning something that you love to do and you can make a living off of...perhaps even more than just a living. You might even find that you're more passionate about this new skill or hobby than your current profession.
I'm also NOT here to say quit your job and tell your responsibilities they aren't important today! I'm only encouraging all of us to wander off the path that seems safest or most comfortable at the risk of never finding your niche. It's a sad thing to think about never knowing what your calling is. So broaden your minds, try new things(legal things) lol, learn new likes and dislikes, find out your strengths and weaknesses...only good things can come from this. It could be anything that sets your heart on fire and feels right to do.
As always amigos, pay attention to your passions. Hasta la pasta :)
No matter where you wander, there is reason for it.
